Mumford and Sons Tickets are on sale now! Mumford and Sons was started in 2007 by four members who play electric guitars, vocals and bass guitars. They are Marcus Mumford, Te Dwane, Winston Marshall, and Ben Lovett. The band's name originated from Marcus Mumford, who was the most active member among the four amigos.
For over six months, Bloom of ART Island nurtured and developed the band until they had picked fan enough. The band's first appearance in the musical festival was in June 2008 at Glastonbury festivals. The band also toured Australia alongside Laura Marling. The interaction with Marling influenced Mumford and Sons to develop their unique way of relating with fans that involve a casual, comfortable and frequent interaction.
On November 2008, Mumford and Sons completed their first project duped Love your ground that was released in Chess Club records. The following year, Mumford and sons started performing Love Your Ground tracks to fans in UK and US. The band recorded with Marcus David at a time when it did not own musical instruments. Marcus had previously refused to work with Mumford and Sons when the musicians turned for a recording without instruments. It was only one song, 'Little Lion Man' from Love your ground album that was included in the Sign No More.
In 2009, Laura supported the band to tour again, and in August the same year, the band signed a licence to Island Records in the UK. They then signed with Dew Process from Australia and Glassnote Records in North America. The band then established its label known as Gentleman of the Road. The band in 2010 took the ARIA award for the most popular international artist of the year. Grammy awards for the best new artist went to Mumford and Sons in December 2010, and ‘Little Lion Man' became the best rock song of that year. The band collaborated with Laura Merling and Dharnofor for a project and released an EP album that was recorded in India.
Mumford and Sons continued soaring high, winning fans and shows all over the world. They won Europe's Border Breakers Award in early 2011. During the same year, the band joined Old Crow Medicine Show together with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros in a revival railway tour with other musicians like The Band, The Grateful Dead, Buddy Guy and Janis Joplin. The band has appeared in the musical documentary by Emmett Malloy. Their second studio album, Babel was set to be released on September 24, 2012. The album was rated number one at the UK Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200.
